Paralegal - Account Manager

Robert Half Legal Permanent Placement is looking for an experienced Attorney - Account Manager to oversee complex claims related to environmental, asbestos, and other latent matters for their Boston client.

Responsibilities:

• Review loss notices, confirm and interpret policy coverages, establish appropriate reserves, and investigate claims involving primary, excess, and umbrella coverages.

• Coordinate with the reinsurance department to provide updates on accounts, submit notices, and address inquiries from reinsurers.

• Assign and oversee the work of defense and coverage counsel, manage expert witnesses, and collaborate with peer carriers to design and implement defense strategies and indemnity contracts.

• Evaluate liability and damages, participate in settlement negotiations, and ensure proper allocation of indemnity and expenses across applicable coverage years.

• Ensure accurate setup, exposure evaluation, reserving, and general handling of claim files in compliance with company policies.

• Develop and implement effective claim handling strategies, including defense coordination, expense management, and procedural improvements.

• Maintain accurate and complete information within the claim management system to ensure compliance and efficiency.

• A J.D. degree and licensed in MA

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience handling general toxic tort claims.

• Prior exposure to asbestos-related claims is highly desired.

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and internet-based applications.

• Industry certifications or designations, such as CPCU or similar, are considered a plus.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage complex claims effectively.
