About the Opportunity
Our client, a growing small organization known for its collaborative and people-focused culture, is seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to take full ownership of day-to-day HR operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a setting where they can truly make an impact.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor across the business, balancing employee engagement, recruiting, compliance, payroll, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate enjoys both the strategic and tactical sides of HR and is eager to build structure, process, and culture as the company continues to grow.
What You’ll Do
Employee Experience & Engagement
- Lead employee engagement initiatives that promote connection, recognition, and culture.
- Support leadership in building a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
- Coordinate internal communications and events that enhance employee experience.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Manage the full-cycle recruiting process from job postings to offer coordination.
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure effective advertising, accurate job descriptions, and timely candidate communication.
- Conduct phone screens, coordinate interviews, and support offer logistics.
- Create an exceptional onboarding experience that sets new hires up for success.
Payroll, Benefits & Compliance
- Process bi-weekly payroll for Minnesota-based employees through Paychex Flex.
- Manage PTO tracking, timecard approvals, and payroll accuracy.
- Administer benefits programs and partner with leadership on plan design and annual open enrollment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and reporting requirements.
Performance Management & Employee Relations
- Continue building out the performance management framework and regular employee lifecycle touchpoints.
- Provide guidance to managers on feedback, coaching, and employee relations.
- Take a proactive approach to issue prevention and resolution, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Strategic HR Initiatives
- Play a key role in implementing Paid Family & Medical Leave and other upcoming compliance programs.
- Support compensation benchmarking and structure reviews.
- Continuously evaluate HR tools and processes for improvement and efficiency.
Who You Are
- 2 years of HR Generalist experience in a small to mid-sized business setting.
- Comfortable serving as a team of one and owning the full HR function.
- Skilled in recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Highly organized, people-oriented, and approachable.
- Confident working with leadership and influencing positive change.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or SHRM certification preferred.
- Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems

- Work Model: Hybrid (2–3 days/week remote flexibility)
- Bonus: 10% discretionary, based on individual and company performance
