Accounts Receivable Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Ashland, Virginia. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in processing and managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling a high volume of checks daily. This role requires strong organizational skills and proficiency with data entry and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:
• Process and scan incoming checks, ensuring accurate documentation and prompt deposits.
• Manage the daily deposit of 400-500 checks, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Update internal systems with detailed deposit and check information to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
• Perform data entry tasks with precision to support accounts receivable processes.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and reconciling financial data.
• Assist with cash applications and ensure proper allocation of payments.
• Support billing functions and address discrepancies in payment records.
• Contribute to collections efforts by following up on outstanding payments when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment issues.
• Prior experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry and basic formula usage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
• Ability to manage high volumes of transactions in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with cash applications, billing, and collections processes.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
