Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator
$75,000–$95,000 | Full-Time | Hybrid
A growing and well-established organization is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator to join its finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced AP professional who brings strong ownership of the payables process, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys partnering with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate payments.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining strong vendor relationships, supporting accurate financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Position Overview
The Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator will manage the full accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice processing, vendor setup and maintenance, payment execution, and reconciliation. This role works closely with accounting leadership, procurement, and operations teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and internal control compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt through payment
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts
- Prepare and process weekly, biweekly, or monthly payment runs
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain vendor master data, including W-9s and payment terms
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues professionally
- Assist with month-end close activities related to AP
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive accounts payable experience
- Strong understanding of AP processes, invoice coding, and reconciliations
- Experience with high-volume invoice processing
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
