Position Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) performs laboratory testing and specimen processing to support accurate and timely patient diagnoses. This role is responsible for completing routine laboratory procedures while maintaining quality standards, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to efficient laboratory operations.

Qualifications

Medical Laboratory Technician certification or a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology required.

Current Louisiana state licensure required.

ASCP certification preferred.

Minimum of two years of hospital or healthcare-related experience preferred.

One year of microbiology experience preferred.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with professionalism.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform specimen collection, processing, and routine laboratory testing according to established policies and procedures.

Ensure accuracy and quality in all laboratory processes and documentation.

Maintain compliance with laboratory, safety, and regulatory standards.

Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and fellow team members.

Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient laboratory environment.

Support quality patient care through timely and accurate test results.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
