Riverview School is an independent coeducational boarding/day school, providing a caring community and learning environment for adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning and cognitive disabilities.
We are seeking a qualified Wilson-trained reading teacher for a part-time role (20 hours per week/ mornings) providing structured literacy instruction to students with complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities, including those with dyslexia and other learning challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized, multisensory reading instruction using the Wilson Reading System
- Support students with diagnosed complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities
- Conduct ongoing Wilson assessments, as well as track and report student progress regularly
- Use assessment data to develop relevant IEP goals and benchmarks
- Communicate with families, teachers, and support staff as needed
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation
Qualifications
- Proficient in administering the WADE, WIST, and other reading assessments
- Experience working with students with complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities
- Knowledge of IEPs and understanding of relevant accommodations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in small group settings
Requirements:
- Wilson Reading System Certification
- Bachelor's degree
- MA Teacher licensure
- Suitable background check result (CORI, SORI, DCF, and Fingerprinting)
- Legal authorization to work in the US
