What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wilson Reading or Orton Gillingham Specialist position at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School?
Start Date: August 26, 2025
Schedule: Woks with students during the day to provide Wilson/Orton Gillingham Specialist Reading Intervention Services subject to program and student enrollment, attendance and needs, as well as grant funding.
30-minute sessions for 4 days a week in a 10-day cycle with a ½ hour prep a day. It is a rotating schedule so needs to be flexible.
Minimum Qualifications: Certified in Wilson Reading or Orton Gillgham
Duties & Responsibilities: Provide direct instruction in reading intervention, progress report writing, and other duties as assigned.
Job Summary:
The Reading Intervention teacher(s) will be responsible for providing Reading services to identified students
This support will occur during the school day on a rotating schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties will be required of a Reading Intervention teacher:
Assessing students’ literacy level
Designing and implementing a plan to help the student develop their reading skills
Working with students in need of reading intervention services in grades 9-12 in a 1:1 pull out setting.
Requirements:
? Candidates should have certification in OG and/or Wilson and have familiarity with specialized
reading programs, as well as the ability to administer a variety of reading assessments.
? Candidates should have experience supporting students in need of reading support at the high school
level, including students on IEPs and English Language Learners.
