Academic Substitute Teacher (Per Diem)

Riverview School is an independent coeducational boarding/day school, providing a caring community and learning environment for adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning and cognitive disabilities. We are seeking Per Diem Academic Substitute Teachers M-F 8am-3:30pm Provides academic instruction to adolescents with complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities. Essential Job Functions to include: •Provide instruction in a variety of subject areas •Engage in data-driven instruction and meaningful assessment practices •Adapt instruction and materials to meet the individual needs of students •Collaborate and communicate with other team members in addressing the needs of the whole child •Use technology to support and facilitate meaningful learning experiences Candidate Requirements: •College graduate with experience working with special education population, teaching license a plus •Experience in an independent school environment preferred •Strong ability to incorporate technology into instruction •Exceptional written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills •Ability to handle a fast-paced environment •Passion for Riverview’s mission and the field of special education •Current/valid driver’s license Other Requirements: •Suitable background check (CORI, SORI, DCF and fingerprinting) •Satisfactory references •Legal authorization to work in the US *CPR/AED/Standard First Aid certified or ability to obtain certification Please apply online at: https://www.riverviewschool.org/careers No phone calls please.
