Riverside Foundation has a full-time position available for a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) for our CILA homes. Duties include supervising direct care staff, managing a caseload, conducting annual staffings, facilitating community outings, communicating with guardians, developing and monitoring programs, and attending to the day-to-day needs of clients. Must be on-call 1 week every month.

The schedule is Monday-Friday 10am-6pm.

Our CILA homes are in the following locations:

  • Grayslake
  • Gurnee
  • Mundelein
  • Wildwood
  • Libertyville

Must have:

  • At least 1 year supervising DSPs in a CILA setting
  • Familiar with DHS Rule 115 and 116
  • At least 1 year experience in writing Implementation Strategies and QIDP Reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, and iCloud

JOB DESCRIPTION:

CILA Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional

I. Responsible to: CILA Director

II. Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Education or Human Services field plus one year experience working directly with individuals who have Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (i.e., a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional as defined by regulatory agencies.) Freedom from communicable disease.

III. Credentials: Proof of degree and college transcripts. Copy of license issued by the Illinois department of Professional Regulations (when applicable). Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

IV. Purpose:

Ensures quality of services for assigned individuals through continuous monitoring and supervision. Ensures development, coordination and consistent implementation of the Person Centered Plan (PCP) through the interdisciplinary process (IDT) for all assigned individuals. Provide guidance and direction to Direct Service Providers (DSP) to ensure quality services are being provided to all individuals. Act as liaison between the CILA program and the Day program.

V. Duties

· Oversees the coordination, development and delivery of person centered plans through the IDT process for all assigned individuals.

· Ensures that the services identified continue to meet the needs of the individual, they are person centered and documented monthly.

· Maintain an up to date case file on each assigned individual.

· Assist the CILA Director with training the DSP’s in the implementation of the PCP and specific implementation strategies.

· Assist the BCBA in developing and implementing behavior plans.

· Ensure medical needs of the individuals are being met.

· Communicate effectively with guardians; maintain communication logs.

· Develop and arrange for recreational and educational community activities with individuals, based on informed choice.

· Provide transportation as needed (medical appointments, therapy appointments, Day Program, community outings).

· Pass medications as needed.

· Provided on call for coverage one week out of four, covering any emergencies, ensuring CILA’s are appropriately staffed and providing coverage if necessary.

· Aid in evaluation, coaching and resolution of any DSP performance issues.

· Report any incidents, safety issues, and workplace injuries immediately.

· Performs any and all related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Upon completion of training, employee must demonstrate competency in the following areas:

  • Successfully pass medications exam within 2 attempts
  • Successfully pass First Aid and CPR exams to the instructor’s satisfaction
  • Working effectively with the individuals
  • Administering medications
  • Lifting/pushing techniques (if applicable)
  • Reliability (showing up on time, not calling off repeatedly, being responsible)
  • Completion of initial training requirements

The CILA Manager is required to complete certain training requirements as listed below:

  • CPR (every 2 years)
  • First Aid (every 2 years)
  • Infectious Diseases and Universal Precautions (Annually)
  • Confidentiality (Annually)
  • Fire Safety and Extinguisher Use (Annually)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) (Annually)
  • Medication Administration (upon complete of DSP training and annually thereafter)
  • Complete 12 CEU’s annually

Working Conditions:

Employee in this position may be expected to work evenings and weekends, and will be expected to be dependable. Employee is also exposed on a regular basis to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities which might include the following behaviors, but not limited to: attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, conduct disorders, below level intellectual functioning, and depression. The employee is occasionally exposed to individuals who have the potential to be carrying a communicable disease.
