Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) in accordance with safety protocols.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, ICD coding, and treatment plans.
- Support medical office operations by scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and handling administrative tasks related to billing and insurance verification.
- Assist with specialized procedures in dermatology clinics or hospital settings, including wound care or minor surgical assistance.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical office settings or outpatient clinics is highly preferred; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding enhances your ability to deliver quality patient care.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous.
- Experience working within hospital environments or trauma centers (Level I or II trauma experience) is a plus.
