Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure accurate records.
  • Measure and record vital signs such as manual blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout the process.
  • Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient interactions, updating medical histories, and coding diagnoses using ICD coding standards.
  • Support hospital medicine units or outpatient clinics by coordinating patient flow and ensuring timely documentation of clinical notes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols for infection control and emergency procedures like Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and processing insurance or billing information.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in clinical settings such as hospital experience, outpatient clinics, or specialty departments like cardiology or internal medicine is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with outpatient environment.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with intake assessments, and supporting outpatient care processes.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams including internal medicine and cardiology.
