Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Internal Project Manager (IPM) to support equipment-related projects by driving project execution, cost control, and schedule performance. This role serves as a key leader within the project team, proactively managing project risks and opportunities while coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate will work closely with project leadership, cost and schedule specialists, and functional teams to identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain strong project governance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead weekly Internal Project Manager (IPM) meetings with cross-functional project teams to review project cost and schedule risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans.
- Drive mitigation activities for project risks by collaborating with functional owners and coordinating corrective actions.
- Facilitate ad hoc meetings to resolve complex project issues and escalate concerns when leadership support is required.
- Partner with Project Managers and Cost Managers by providing regular updates on project risks, mitigation plans, and project status.
- Ensure cost and schedule variance information is incorporated into project management reviews and reporting processes.
- Support cost and schedule teams in coordinating project commitment meetings to review project baselines, forecasts, targets, risks, and execution plans.
- Promote proactive risk management and continuous project monitoring to help achieve project objectives.
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely execution of project deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience managing complex projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including cost, schedule, risk, and change management.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to lead meetings, coordinate multiple priorities, and drive action across teams.
- Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting equipment, manufacturing, industrial, power, or engineering projects.
- Knowledge of project controls, forecasting, and schedule management.
- Experience working with cross-functional technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
