Operations Support Specialist
Work Location: On-site
Pay Rate: $35/hr
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (40 hours/week with potential overtime)
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Operations Support Specialist to support manufacturing operations by ensuring production teams have the materials, tools, and supplies needed to work efficiently. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in material handling, inventory replenishment, and warehouse operations who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Replenish Kanban inventory to maintain established minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Monitor material availability and proactively address shortages.
- Pick, organize, and deliver production materials through the kitting process.
- Set up and restock production tool carts.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport materials between warehouse and production areas.
- Collect, transport, and dispose of waste containers in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain organized, labeled, and properly stocked material storage areas.
- Verify materials, tools, and supplies are delivered to the correct production locations.
- Support inventory accuracy by following material control and inventory transaction procedures.
- Report damaged materials, shortages, or inventory discrepancies to the appropriate team.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, maintenance, and support teams to minimize downtime.
- Maintain 5S standards and housekeeping throughout assigned work areas.
- Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Perform additional operational support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, material handling, or a related environment.
- Previous forklift experience or current forklift certification.
- Basic computer skills for inventory and material transactions.
- Ability to read work instructions, labels, part numbers, and production schedules.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials throughout the workday.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and overtime when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kanban, kitting, point-of-use inventory, or material replenishment systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and visual inventory management.
- Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Experience handling industrial waste in a regulated manufacturing environment.
