Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $38,000–$52,500/year — Based on experience and qualifications; additional degree and nursing stipends may apply

Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–2:30 PM; school calendar with extended days during summer

Job Summary
Deliver professional nursing services across a specialized school setting—providing clinical care, promoting student wellness, and partnering with educators, families, and medical staff. A stable, long-term role offering predictable hours and meaningful community impact.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver first aid, emergency care, and ongoing health support to students and staff

Assist the school physician with physical examinations and vision and hearing screenings

Keep student health records accurate, current, and confidential

Support and participate in school immunization clinics

Evaluate and respond to communicable disease concerns and health-related attendance issues

Arrange emergency transportation for ill or injured students and staff as needed

Inspect classrooms, playgrounds, and cafeterias; document and report safety and sanitation concerns

Order, manage, and maintain inventory of medical supplies and first-aid equipment

Prepare required reports and documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines

Work closely with teachers, administrators, and attendance staff to advance student wellness
Minimum Requirements

Graduate of a New York State Education Department–approved nursing program

Active NYS RN license in good standing

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, families, and school personnel

Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
