Job Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Practical Nursing Clinical Instructor to join our highly respected, 10-month Practical Nursing Program based in Hudson Falls, NY. This role is perfect for an RN who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and guiding adult learners through hands-on clinical instruction while maintaining a flexible, balanced schedule. This is a 10-month, annual rehire position under a union contract (Article 19), making it an excellent fit for nurses seeking professional stability, work-life balance, and time with family—including summers off.
Schedule, Compensation & Program Structure
- Compensation: $38.68 per hour (union rate)
- Schedule: Thursdays & Fridays, 6:45 AM – 3:45 PM (approx. 18–19 hours/week)
- Program Length: Late August through the end of June (10-month academic year)
- Summer: Full summer break
- Retirement: Eligible for New York State retirement pension system
- Position Type: Part-time, annual rehire under union contract

Work Locations & Travel
- Primary Program Site: Southern Adirondack Education Center, Hudson Falls, NY
Clinical Sites: Travel required to various partner locations
Some clinical sites may be up to two hours away (e.g., St. Mary's, Amsterdam)
- Dependable transportation is required

Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and student-centered learning environment , aligned with New York State Office of Professions standards.
- Serve as a professional role model , demonstrating excellence in communication, critical thinking, and patient care.
- Plan and deliver weekly clinical and/or lab instruction , following the NYS-approved curriculum.
- Provide timely evaluations and clear feedback based on program requirements and facility expectations.
- Guide students through developing essential nursing skills, clinical judgment, and professional behaviors.
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices through continuing education and professional development .
- Ensure students stay actively engaged and accountable during clinical rotations.
- Support students in meeting academic, clinical, and behavioral expectations required by the state and accrediting bodies.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications)
Licensure & Credentials
- Required: Active, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
Preferred: BSN or higher
Candidates with an Associate Degree must be actively enrolled in a BSN program (verification required)
- Ideal: Master's degree in Nursing Education (MSN) or related field (not required)
Experience
- 3–5 years of recent RN clinical experience required
- 1 year of previous Education environment Nursing experience required
