Camp Nurse (RN or LPN)
Summer 2026 | Residential All-Girls Camp
Location: Honesdale, PA (On-Site, Residential Role)
Employment Type: Seasonal—Summer Contract
Dates & Commitment: June 16th-August 9th (Orientation Camp)
Season: 8 weeks total (Free Pickup/Dropoff from Newark Airport)
Important Requirement: This is an all-girls residential camp, and we are hiring female RNs and LPNs only for this summer.
Compensation
Registered Nurse: $1,200 per week
Licensed Practical Nurse: $900–$1,000 per week
Licensed Practical Nurse: $900–$1,000 per week
- Travel stipend provided, paid at completion of summer (non-taxable)
- Private, air-conditioned room in the Health Center
- Shared bathroom with one other nurse or senior staff member
- All Meals included
- Camp uniform shirts and sweatshirts provided
- Free tuition for camp-age-appropriate Daughter(s) (salary adjustment applies)
- No pets permitted
Schedule/days off:
About Our Client
- Shifts rotate:
8:00 AM–3:00 PM
3:00 PM–10:00/11:00 PM
One nurse on call overnight - One full day and night off per week Two additional nights off weekly
About Our Client
Our client is a well-established, all-girls residential summer camp serving approximately 340 campers across traditional and specialty sessions. The camp community is vibrant, supportive, and built around helping girls grow in confidence, independence, and friendship.The Health Center is a central part of camp life. The nursing team includes a Head Nurse, an administrator, and a total of eight nurses working in a collaborative shift structure. The environment is supportive and team-oriented.This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working with children, values community, and wants to experience summer in a meaningful and joyful setting.
The Role
Camp Nurses are responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and responsive health environment for campers and staff. The position combines clinical skills with warmth, flexibility, and strong communication.This role is similar to school nursing—with the difference that campers do not go home at the end of the day.You will care for routine childhood illnesses and injuries, manage medication distribution, provide reassurance, and serve as a trusted adult within the camp community.The camp does not serve chronically complex medical populations.

This is not a hospital environment. Camp nursing requires clinical judgment paired with emotional intelligence, adaptability, and positivity.
- Provide direct nursing care for illness, injury, and ongoing medical needs
- Conduct triage, assessment, and treatment of routine and urgent concerns
- Monitor common childhood conditions (asthma, allergies, minor injuries, homesickness-related complaints)
- Respond to emergencies and coordinate with local hospital or urgent care if necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-run Health Center
- Distribute daily prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Accurately document all medications administered
- Prepare medications for overnight stays and off-site trips as needed
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate with parents regarding significant health concerns
- Collaborate with camp directors and staff to support camper well-being
- Work closely with fellow nurses within a structured shift schedule
- Serve as a supportive presence for campers who may need reassurance
Health Records & Documentation
- Review camper health forms before arrival
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
- Document all camper visits and treatments consistently
Qualifications
- Current RN or LPN license in good standing
- Pennsylvania License/compact state license or temporary license obtainable
- A valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- 1 years of professional Pediatric, school nursing, emergency, or related experience preferred
- Strong triage and assessment skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a nursing team
- Comfort living and working in a residential camp environment
