A thriving all-girls residential summer camp with roughly 340 campers and a fully staffed Health Center running eight nurses, a Head Nurse, and a dedicated administrator. Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: RN: $1,200/week | LPN: $900–$1,000/week — Based on experience and qualifications
Relocation Assistance: Travel stipend included (disbursed at end of season, non-taxable); complimentary pickup and dropoff at Newark Airport
Shift: Rotating shifts: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM and 3:00 PM–10:00/11:00 PM; one nurse on overnight call per shift cycle; one full day and night off each week plus two additional nights off weekly
Benefits Package: Private air-conditioned room in the Health Center; shared bath with one other nurse or senior staff member; all meals provided; camp uniform shirts and sweatshirts included; free tuition for camp-age daughter(s) (salary adjustment applies)
Job Summary
Step into a structured nursing role at a large, well-run all-girls camp where the Health Center operates like a small clinic—with real team support, clear shift coverage, and a healthy camper population. The work is school nursing in spirit, but the community never goes home.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on nursing care for illness, injury, and ongoing health needs across the camper and staff population
Triage presenting concerns, treat routine and urgent cases, and track childhood health conditions including asthma, allergies, and minor trauma
Step up for emergencies; escalate to the local hospital or urgent care when the situation calls for it
Manage daily prescription and OTC medication distribution; keep all administration records complete and current
Pack and prepare medications ahead of overnight trips and off-site camp activities
Comb through camper health forms before arrival; uphold accurate, confidential records across the full season
Reach out to parents when health updates are clinically meaningful, with a tone that is calm and professional
Team up with directors and staff to keep the broader camp community healthy and supported
Keep every corner of the Health Center clean, stocked, and functioning smoothly through every shift handoff
Show up for campers who need more than clinical care—be the calm, steady presence they can count on
Minimum Requirements
Current RN or LPN license in good standing
Female nurse (required for this role)
Pennsylvania license, Compact state license, or ability to secure a temporary PA license before the season starts
Active CPR/AED and First Aid certification
Prepared to live on-site and see the season through to closing day
Works well within a structured, collaborative nursing team
Composed and professional under pressure; brings warmth, flexibility, and clear communication to every interaction
Ideal Qualifications
At least one year in pediatrics, school nursing, emergency nursing, or a closely related clinical area
Confident triage skills and sound clinical instincts under time pressure
History in a camp, school, or community health setting outside the hospital environment
Reads between the lines—knows when a stomachache is really homesickness
