Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic

Base Salary: $25–$48 per hour (based on experience level)

The Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on general aviation aircraft, ensures airworthiness, troubleshoots issues, and maintains compliance with FAA standards. The role demands strong technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving flight training environment.
- Perform maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs per FAA regulations and company procedures.
- Read and apply maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, IPCs, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives.
- Document all maintenance actions accurately and ensure aircraft return to service in airworthy condition.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with mechanics, instructors, and management regarding aircraft status and maintenance timelines.
- Adjust workload priorities based on operational needs.
- Work flexible scheduling, including day/night/10-hour shifts.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
- Ability to obtain Inspection Authorization (IA) within 3 months of hire.
- Minimum 3 years of general aviation A&P experience.
- Experience with Piper aircraft.
- G1000 avionics experience.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and independent airworthiness decision-making.
- Solid understanding of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn Talon RMS or similar systems.
- Strong documentation accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in typical aviation environments (fuel, solvents, noise, outdoor/hangar conditions).
- Comfortable working in standing, bending, and stooping positions for extended periods.
