This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in cost analysis, inventory, and operational finance. The Cost Accountant will play a key role in monitoring product costs, improving margins, and supporting business decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and maintain standard costs, variances, and cost structures
- Perform inventory accounting, including reconciliations and cycle count support
- Monitor and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and production costs
- Prepare and review monthly cost variance reports and provide insights
- Partner with operations and finance teams to improve cost efficiency and profitability
- Support budgeting and forecasting related to production and cost drivers
- Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Evaluate and improve cost accounting processes and controls
- Support audits related to inventory and cost accounting
- Assist with system implementations or enhancements related to costing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of cost accounting or related experience
- Experience with inventory accounting and cost analysis
- Strong understanding of standard costing and variance analysis
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate financial insights to cross-functional teams
