We are seeking an experienced Production Operator / Lease Operator to support the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas production facilities and wellsites. This role is responsible for monitoring wells and production equipment, performing routine maintenance activities, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience with pumping wells, gas lift systems, ESPs (Electric Submersible Pumps), and plunger lift operations. Candidates should possess strong operational knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a field environment. This position requires a local candidate located in or near Southeast Midland.

Candidates should possess strong operational knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a field environment. This position requires a local candidate located in or near Southeast Midland.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor oil and gas wells and production equipment in accordance with operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Conduct daily surveillance of wells, facilities, and production systems to identify operational issues and optimization opportunities.
- Monitor production rates, pressures, fluid levels, and equipment performance.
- Perform routine inspections of wellheads, separators, tanks, compressors, pipelines, and associated production equipment.
- Function as an Equipment Care Technician and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Coordinate and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Assist with gas lift, ESP, and plunger lift system monitoring and optimization.
- Collect product samples and perform field testing as required.
- Maintain accurate production records, operational logs, and shift reports.
- Report abnormal operating conditions, alarms, equipment failures, and safety concerns.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency response activities.
- Ensure proper communication during shift turnover and provide detailed operational updates.
- Support well diagnostics and identify production issues prior to requesting well intervention services.
- Ensure wellheads and surface production equipment are maintained and ready for well servicing operations.
- Provide support during well intervention and wellwork activities.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and service personnel to maximize production and equipment reliability.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of oil and gas production operations experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a Production Operator, Lease Operator, Pumper, or Field Technician.
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas production equipment and operations.
- Experience with pumping wells and artificial lift systems.
- Hands-on experience with Gas Lift systems.
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting ESP (Electric Submersible Pump) systems.
- Experience with Plunger Lift operations.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline operations and production flow systems.
- Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and operational safety programs.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and operational compliance requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency and ability to utilize production reporting and operational software.
- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Experience optimizing well performance and production rates.
- Experience supporting well intervention and workover activities.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and electronic production monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of safety management systems and incident reporting processes.
- Field-based position supporting oil and gas production operations.
- Frequent exposure to wellsites, production facilities, pipelines, and rotating equipment.
- Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- May require after-hours callouts, overtime, and occasional weekend work.
- Candidate must reside locally within the Southeast Midland area to effectively support field operations.
