Job Description:
Seeking a Compressor Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of gas compressor systems and associated equipment. The position involves monitoring compressor operations, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring optimal performance and reliability of compression equipment in an oil and gas production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on gas compressor units and associated equipment
- Monitor compressor performance and operational parameters
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues with compressor systems
- Conduct daily inspections of compressor stations and related equipment
- Respond to equipment alarms and emergency callouts
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
- Change filters, lubricating oil, and other consumables as required
- Adjust compressor settings to maintain optimal performance and efficiency
- Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures including engines, valves, coolers, and instrumentation
- Monitor pressures, temperatures, and other critical parameters
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations
- Communicate equipment status and maintenance needs to supervisors and team members
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience with gas compressor operations and maintenance
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of compressor engines, controls, and auxiliary equipment
- Ability to read and interpret gauges, meters, and technical manuals
- Basic electrical and instrumentation knowledge
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills
- Ability to respond to callouts and work flexible schedules as needed
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions
- Willingness to work rotating shifts or on-call schedules
