Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Directional Driller to join our drilling operations team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating Orbit Rotary Steerable System (RSS) technology and a strong background in directional drilling operations. This role is responsible for planning and executing directional drilling programs to achieve precise wellbore placement while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute directional drilling operations using Orbit RSS technology
- Monitor and adjust drilling parameters to maintain planned wellbore trajectory
- Interpret real-time drilling data and make operational decisions to optimize well placement
- Operate and troubleshoot Orbit Rotary Steerable System equipment
- Collaborate with drilling engineers, rig crews, and operations teams to ensure successful well delivery
- Prepare and review well plans, including directional drilling programs and survey plans
- Monitor downhole conditions and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Ensure all drilling activities comply with safety procedures and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate drilling records and daily reports
- Provide technical guidance and support to rig personnel
- Participate in pre-well planning meetings and post-well reviews
- Communicate wellbore trajectory status and any deviations to stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Directional Driller
- Hands-on experience operating Orbit Rotary Steerable System (RSS) - Required
- Strong understanding of directional drilling principles and wellbore surveying
- Ability to interpret geological and drilling data
- Proficiency in directional drilling software and planning tools
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work rotating shifts and extended periods in field locations
- Team player with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
