Job Description:
Lease Operator/Pumper position responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining oil and gas production equipment and facilities. This role ensures safe and efficient daily operations of lease equipment, wells, tanks, and related production infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate oil and gas production equipment including wells, pumping units, separators, and tanks
- Perform daily field inspections and equipment rounds to ensure proper operation
- Read and record gauges, meters, and production data accurately
- Gauge tanks and report production volumes
- Monitor and adjust well equipment to optimize production
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including greasing equipment, changing filters, and minor repairs
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or abnormal conditions
- Troubleshoot basic operational issues in the field
- Maintain accurate daily reports and production records
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations as needed
- Keep lease locations clean and maintained
- Communicate with supervisors regarding equipment status, production issues, and maintenance needs
- Perform chemical treatments as required
- Monitor tank levels and coordinate with transport/disposal services
Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous lease operator or oil and gas production experience preferred
- Knowledge of oil and gas production equipment and operations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in field environments
- Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness
- Reliable and dependable with good attendance
- Ability to be on call for emergencies as needed
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as required
