We are seeking a meticulous Document Prep Specialist in Jessup, MD 20794. This is a 6‑month temporary contract position offering a pay rate of $17.70/hr. You’ll help ensure that every document is review‑ready for imaging and archiving, maintaining sequence, quality, and efficiency throughout the process.
Job Description
- Document Preparation: Review cartons of documents brought in by the Record Center Coordinator, remove staples, paper clips, or other fasteners; straighten bent or folded pages; and return each document to the carton in the exact order removed.
- Seated Tasks: Perform the majority of the prep work while seated (or actively alternating sit/stand when needed); frequent use of upper extremities and occasional reaching for materials required.
- Instruction Adherence: Read and interpret detailed instructions; maintain focus and precision throughout the work periods, ensuring document quality and consistency.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with the Imaging Production Specialist and the Record Center Coordinator to preserve document flow, order, and integrity in the prep process.
- Professional Appearance: Maintain professionalism in appearance and conduct; attire must be presentable and appropriate for the working environment.
Job Qualifications
- Attention to Detail: Highly detail‑oriented, capable of maintaining accuracy across repetitive tasks while ensuring documents remain in order.
- Physical Requirements: Comfortable with constant use of upper extremities, occasional reaching; able to sit for extended periods and adaptable to sit/stand positions as needed.
- Footwear Standards: Protective footwear may be required; when needed, must meet ASTM F2413‑11 standard for safety toe cap footwear and have a slip‑resistant rating of “Better” or “Best.”
- Work Schedule: Able to work 5 days per week, 9 hours per day (includes a 30‑minute lunch plus two 15‑minute rest breaks).
- Shift Schedule: 06:15 AM – 02:45 PM; flexibility for evening or third‑shift assignments may be required depending on workload.
- Professionalism: Dependable attendance, punctuality, strong work ethic, and professional behavior are essential.
