Shift: 1st shift-> 7:00am - 3:30pm, / 2nd shift-> 3:00pm- 11:30pm
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Packaging Mechanic to manage line set-ups, preventative maintenance, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting for bottle packaging lines. This role ensures smooth, safe line operations in compliance with cGMP and safety regulations while guiding operators on line performance and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform changeovers, set-ups, preventive maintenance, and repairs on high-speed bottle packaging machinery (unscramblers, slat fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, case packers).
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems using diagnostic tools (multimeters, calipers, CMMS).
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to execute work orders and equipment installs.
- Complete all required operation logs, work orders, and cGMP batch records with high accuracy.
- Coach and guide Packaging Operators on machine operation, basic breakdown, and cleaning/sanitation procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to cGMP, SOP, and OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a relevant Technical Training Certificate/Advanced Diploma.
- Experience: 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience specifically on bottle packaging lines within the pharmaceutical, supplement, or food manufacturing industries.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read blueprints/schematics, basic English reading/writing for regulated documentation, and general PC proficiency (PLC knowledge is a plus).
- Requirements: Ability to work extended hours and weekend overtime when required.
