Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff to deliver comprehensive patient care aligned with facility standards and protocols
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation with precision and attention to detail
- Oversee medication administration, IV infusions, wound suturing, and aseptic techniques to ensure safety and compliance
- Manage patient flow within the unit, including triage assessments for urgent cases in emergency or urgent care settings
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on specialized procedures like botulinum toxin treatments or catheterization techniques
Qualifications
- Valid RN or LPN license with current state licensure required
- Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and diagnostic evaluation processes
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with laboratory experience and medical imaging is a plus
- Skilled in advanced patient assessment techniques including physical examinations, airway management, tube feeding, ventilator support and infection control practices
- Ability to handle complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious disease care, trauma medicine or hospice & palliative medicine
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and with patients’ families
