Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care.
- Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living - ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and personal hygiene to promote independence.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic activities that enhance socialization and cognitive stimulation.
- Collaborate with care teams to ensure activities are appropriate for residents’ health conditions and safety requirements.
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of planned events while accommodating individual preferences.
- Provide emotional support and companionship during activities to foster a warm community environment.
- Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes for reporting purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and aging issues counseling.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to assist residents with ADLs while maintaining dignity and promoting independence.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care settings is highly desirable.
- Excellent schedule management skills to organize multiple activities seamlessly throughout each day.
