Description:
The Vacuum Pump Service Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs on vacuum and other pumps throughout the facility, and, perform tasks as described below.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, decontaminate, clean and inspect a variety of industrial pumps for repair including blowers, vacuum pumps, turbo pumps.
- Train alongside our Vacuum Pump Service Supervisor to learn our pump repair process.
· Observe signs of wear on pumps and make recommendations for upcoming maintenance.
· Perform PM maintenance on vacuum pumps per PM schedule.
· Assists with other maintenance projects, as needed, performs other duties as assigned.
· Accurately document and maintain all service records/histories.
· Follows the code of conduct and policies defined in the employee handbook.
· Follow all safety & PPE policies.
· Assure the vacuum department remains cleaned, organized, and compliant.
Competencies:
· Basic written and communication skills.
· Basic single and three-phase electrical knowledge.
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule with some nights and/or weekends required to provide maintenance when machines are not needed for production, and/or machine emergencies.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Good reasoning & problem-solving capabilities.
· Mechanical training & experience with various types of industrial, auto, and various other equipment & components.
· Employee must have their own tools or be able to obtain tools.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described below must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.
· Will be required to talk, hear, and see. Vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to differentiate between colors.
· Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
· Occasional lifting and moving of up to 70 lbs.
· Must be able to stand 8-10 hours a day.
Work Environment:
· This position is in a manufacturing setting.
· Indoor work which may not be temperature controlled.
· Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
