Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Description:

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist assumes primary responsibility for preparing and tracking incoming/outgoing Federal Express, UPS, and local delivery shipments (domestic and international) and logging and distributing incoming packages.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Loads and unloads deliveries from incoming and outgoing trucks.

· Verifies customer and order information for correctness and efficiently enters this information into software to generate necessary paperwork. This includes reviewing orders and other documents to determine priorities and shipping methods that are needed to meet schedules.

· Measure using a measuring caliber for incoming parts.

· Inspect, pack, and ship customer orders in compliance with company standards and customer requirements

· Verifies proper paperwork is received for incoming orders and sent with outgoing orders.

· Inspects and counts shipments before receiving & shipping and notifies the Supervisor of damaged/missing items.

· Complies with safety policies, programs & OSHA

· Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees from other departments.

· Assists with other projects, as needed, and performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

· Basic written and communication skills

· Computer skills – Microsoft Office

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described below must be met to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

· Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.

· Will be required to talk, hear, and see. Vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus, and the ability to differentiate between colors.

· Occasional lifting and moving of up to 80 lbs.

· Must be able to stand 6-10 hours a day

Work Environment:

· This position is in a manufacturing setting.

· Indoor work, which may not be temperature controlled.

· Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
