What You Can Expect :
This position is responsible for ensuring the daily operation of the branch is complete and profitable.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Ensure warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees.
- Collaborate with account management and customer service team to ensure customer requirements are executed and achieved.
- Manage the reception, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, product, and supplies that come in and out of corporate warehouses.
- Work with inventory team to Implement and maintain inventory control systems, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate recording of stock levels, stock movement, and inventory valuation.
- Work with account management and operations to Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; adjust where necessary.
- Compare and report actual month results versus budgeted results on a monthly basis
- Work with engineering team to plan warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization.
- Identify errors and eliminate root cause using countermeasures. Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
- Develop and/or enforce corporate policies regarding security and safety to maintain a safe working environment and enhance our safety culture.
- Ensure warehouse management tools are being used effectively and productively; work with IT to improve tools as needed
- Assist in the day-to-day physical operations when needed, including but not limited to picking, packing, and loading trucks
- Drive performance with employees by providing a positive and equitable work environment emphasizing respect, responsiveness, and achieving desired results.
- Responsible for managing costs related to labor, continuous improvement implementations and other warehouse processes related to scope of responsibility.
- Work with intercompany departments to ensure facilities are operating at peak levels (engineering, procurement, human resources, etc.)
What You Bring:
Education & Work Experience Requirements / Skills:
- University degree, or an acceptable combination of education and progressively responsible experience
- Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in the distribution industry, specifically in the areas of third-party logistics and high risk/high value merchandise
- Direct working knowledge of operations and inventory management.
- Experience with radio frequency ID systems (RFID), bar code systems, and electronic data interchange (EDI) may be required.
- Strong knowledge of SCM systems, as well as Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
