What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Crew Leader position at Reynalds Brothers Environmental?
We are looking for a dependable leader who can keep a crew moving, stay organized, and think ahead on the job site. This is a hands-on position where you'll work alongside the crew while helping coordinate daily activities, solving problems, and keeping projects on schedule. We're looking for someone who wants to continue growing as a leader—not someone looking to sit in a truck all day.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field crews on commercial and industrial job sites
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily job site activities
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and project specifications
- Perform and oversee underground plumbing and utility installations
- Operate heavy equipment including mini excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and other job site equipment
- Perform saw cutting, excavation, trenching, grading, and site preparation
- Ensure all work complies with project specifications, safety regulations, and applicable codes
- Maintain accurate daily reports, job progress updates, and documentation
- Mentor and motivate crew members
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Travel to project sites across multiple states
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of commercial plumbing or underground utility experience
- Extensive experience operating heavy equipment (mini excavator, skid steer, excavator, trencher, etc.)
- Experience with concrete saw cutting and demolition
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Journeyman or Master Plumber License (preferred but not required)
- CDL (preferred but not required)
Requirements
- Previous leadership or crew management experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel for extended periods (typically 3 weeks out, 1 week home)
- Strong knowledge of underground utility construction, excavation, and commercial plumbing practices
- Ability to read blueprints and coordinate work from project plans
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professionalism
