What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Clinician — Child & Family Therapy (Contract) position at The Traveling Therapist Co.?
The Traveling Therapist Co. is a boutique, private-pay practice providing in-home and community-based therapy to children, adolescents, and families throughout Metro Atlanta.
This role is best suited to a licensed clinician who already has other income and is looking to build a flexible, supplemental caseload on their own terms — not someone seeking full-time, primary income. We're intentionally selective about growing our team, and we're looking for the right long-term fit over quick hours.
Who this is for:
- Independently licensed in Georgia (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT only)
- 3 years post-graduate experience with children, adolescents, and/or families
- Has other primary income and wants meaningful, flexible clinical work on the side
- Strong family-systems orientation — comfortable engaging parents/caregivers alongside the identified client
- Comfortable with in-home/community travel (most sessions are mobile)
- Available some evenings, to accommodate school-age clients — weekend flexibility a plus, not required
What we offer:
- Genuine flexibility — build your caseload and schedule around your life, not the other way around
- Competitive session-based compensation, discussed at interview
- EHR/admin/marketing infrastructure handled for you
- A collaborative, boutique team culture with room to grow as the practice does
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home and community-based therapy sessions to children, adolescents, and families across Metro Atlanta
- Engage parents/caregivers as part of treatment, consistent with a family-systems approach
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation — assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Coordinate with caregivers, schools, and other providers as needed to support client progress
- Attend occasional team check-ins for connection and clinical consultation
Qualifications:
- Active, independent Georgia license: LCSW, LPC, or LMFT (required)
- Master's degree in a mental health-related field (required)
- 3 years post-graduate clinical experience with children, adolescents, and/or families
- Reliable transportation and genuine comfort with regular driving across metro Atlanta
- Professional liability insurance
- Strong documentation and treatment planning skills
To apply: Send a resume and a short note on your experience with child, adolescent, or family therapy as well as any in-home or community-based therapy experience to info@travelingtherapistco.com.
