Position Overview:
Were looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Director of Accounts Payable to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the US Controller, this role will lead and optimize the AP functions across our growing and dynamic organization. This role is responsible for the end-to-end process of vendor payments and reporting related to payables, as well as control implementation and monitoring.
What You'll Do:
- Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and execute strategic plans for AP to align with company financial goals and operational requirements. More specifically you will be responsible along with the Accounting team to implement controls and clean up the process around vendor payments.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of AP managers, analysts, and clerks.
- Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams including Accounting, Operations, and IT to optimize working capital and cash flow.
- Accounts Payable Oversight
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of all vendor invoices while implementing and maintaining appropriate controls.
- Drive automation and process improvements within the AP cycle to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Internal Controls and Compliance
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls related to AP processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audit support for AP.
- Technology & Reporting
- Leverage ERP systems, procure to pay system and analytics tools to provide actionable insights, dashboards, and KPIs for AP performance.
- Payment processing administrator.
- Lead or support system upgrades and integrations related to finance operations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages related to AP performance, aging, and forecasts in collaboration with the AR and accounting teams.
What Were Looking For:
- Post Secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or another related field.
- 10 years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience using an ERP system such as NetSuite.
- Experience in a multi-national company where controls and processes have a magnifying glass on them. Ability to implement and maintain controls.
- Deep operational expertise, a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong leadership and team development skills. Ability to engage and motivate a team to high performance.
- Sense of urgency, responsiveness and accountability.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills.

- Proven track record of implementing process improvements, automation, and cost-saving initiatives.

- Experience with NetSuite.
- Experience with Ramp.
- Expertise in data interpretation and business analysis for presenting key insights to senior leadership, including C-suite executives.
- Experience negotiating terms with vendors and handling complex dispute resolutions.
- Experience working with an in-person team as well as remote team members.
