Role Overview
This is a leadership-level design role for an experienced Electrical or MEP Engineer who brings strong technical expertise, client-facing confidence, and the ability to mentor junior team members. The position leads sophisticated power and lighting system design efforts while partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects with precision and excellence.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design of power distribution, interior and exterior lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, low-voltage, A/V, and specialty systems, while producing detailed construction documents and ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, and other applicable codes.
- Serve as the Electrical Design Lead from concept through construction, advising clients on system options that balance performance, safety, and cost, conducting site visits to validate existing conditions, and supporting construction teams to ensure design intent is executed.
- Direct Designers, Drafters, and junior Engineers, coordinate across internal and external disciplines, resolve complex design challenges with minimal oversight, and support project budgeting, scheduling, and documentation standards.
Who You Are
- B.S.E.E. from an accredited university or equivalent experience required; Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
- 6 years of electrical engineering design experience, ideally involving building power, lighting, and related systems for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, NFPA standards, and the National Electric Code, with experience using Bluebeam and tools such as SKM, Aspen, and/or EasyPower, plus the ability to read and interpret both 2D and 3D drawings accurately.
