Position Summary / What You’ll Do
The Senior Project Manager leads a portfolio of complex transportation projects, coordinating across roadway, structural, and traffic disciplines. This role manages client expectations, project resources, and financial performance while mentoring the next generation of project managers and engineers.
Responsibilities / Day-to-Day
- Manage multiple transportation projects from proposal through delivery
- Define and oversee project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resources
- Direct internal engineering teams and external subconsultants
- Serve as primary client contact, strengthening long-term relationships
- Ensure quality, compliance, constructability, and successful agency reviews
- Track financial performance, forecasts, invoicing, and profitability
- Identify and mitigate project risks proactively
- Mentor and develop project managers and mid-level staff
- Support business development through proposals, qualifications, and client engagement
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 15 years of experience managing transportation or infrastructure projects
- Proven track record delivering complex multi-discipline projects on time and within budget
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with DOT and local agency standards, permitting, and funding sources
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in engineering or related field
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Business development experience with client-facing success
