Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure strong fiscal stewardship across all departments. The ideal candidate will have significant accounting experience in hospitality or restaurant management and the ability to balance attention to detail with big-picture financial leadership. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and essential to the financial health and growth of the business.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting

  • Oversee full cycle accounting including AR/AP, general ledger, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Monitor operating results and deliver variance analysis with actionable insights.
  • Provide leadership with accurate financial data to support strategic decisions.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and strengthen internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate external audits and tax filings.
  • Manage risk assessment and operational compliance.

Operational Collaboration

  • Partner with restaurant leadership to track performance by department, outlet, and cost center.
  • Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support business strategy.
  • Collaborate with operations on labor costing, inventory control, vendor terms, and pricing strategies.

Cash & Treasury Management

  • Oversee cash flow forecasting and day-to-day cash management.
  • Manage banking relationships and credit facilities.
  • Optimize working capital and financial processes for improved liquidity.

Team Development

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
  • Build a high–performing finance team with a customer-service focused mindset.
  • Coach and develop team members to improve performance and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Required). CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 7 years of progressive accounting/financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a hospitality or multi-unit restaurant environment preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial systems, reporting standards, and audit processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with a strategic problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency with restaurant financial systems (e.g., Oracle, Aloha, Micros, Toast) and advanced Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills.

Salary : $120,000 - $160,000
