We are seeking a sharp, hands-on, and entrepreneurial Controller to oversee the financial infrastructure and accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage and streamline all day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bookkeeping across multiple operating entities.
- Payroll Management: Oversee weekly payroll processing for a diverse, high-volume workforce.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing clear, transparent insights directly to ownership.
- Cash Flow & Systems Optimization: Manage daily cash receipts and bank reconciliations for high-volume cash and digital transactions. Help create, implement, and streamline modern payment and bookkeeping workflows.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and enforce robust internal financial controls to safeguard assets. Ensure absolute compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations and licensing requirements.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Partner with the operational management team to develop budgets, track variances, and identify areas for cost optimization to help drive profitability.
What You Bring
- Experience: 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
- Industry Savvy: Direct experience in hospitality and restaurants is required. You must understand the unique rhythms, cash handling, and fast pivot-cycles inherent to high-volume hospitality environments.
- Software Expertise: Expert proficiency with QuickBooks and advanced Excel capabilities is required.
- Mindset: A true self-starter. You are someone who loves to build, clean up, and organize financial systems rather than just maintaining the status quo.
- Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel occasionally to regional operational hubs (approximately once per month).
