The Continuous Improvement Specialist drives operational excellence across manufacturing, supply chain, and support functions. The role leads strategic improvement projects, facilitates Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and partners with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and compliance. The role leads strategic improvement projects, facilitates Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and partners with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and compliance. This role will be responsible for enabling a culture of continuous improvement aligned with defense-industry standards and customer requirements.
- Lead high-impact Lean initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and develop data-driven solutions to support strategic business goals.
- Serve as a change agent, promoting a Lean culture across manufacturing and support departments.
- Plan, execute, and sustain CI projects using PDCA or similar methodologies
- Establish project charters, timelines, KPIs, and financial impact assessments.
- Track progress and report results to senior leadership and program stakeholders.
- Train employees on lean tools, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and waste reduction techniques.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops focused on continuous improvement capabilities.
- Ensure process improvements align with ISO standards, ITAR, DFARS, and internal quality standards.
- Support audit preparation and corrective actions, ensuring sustained compliance.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field with 6 years experience in continuous improvement within manufacturing; defense or aerospace preferred.
- Masters Degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field with 4 years experience in continuous improvement within manufacturing; defense or aerospace preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma and structioned problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience leading cross functional improvement initiatives
