Renard's Cheese, an award-winning cheese producer, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Cheesemaker to join our team. We offer on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement, empowering and inspiring our employees to grow. As an Assistant Cheesemaker, you will play a crucial role in the cheese production process, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cheesemaker in all aspects of cheese production
• Perform cheddaring, milling, scooping, and pressing of cheese
• Remove cheese from press and clean equipment
• Adhere to sanitation procedures and policies
• Dress hoops and wax cheese
• Assist with setup for curd and string orders
• Follow and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices
• Work effectively as a team player
• Become familiar with HACCP

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 pounds and on occasion 75 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, frequent walking and standing
• Comfortable climbing ladders, frequent bending and reaching
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
• Positive attitude and willingness to follow instructions
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

Offered compensation: $20/hr - $21/hr
