Accounts Payable Systems Manager

The Opportunity
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Systems Manager to oversee and evolve our accounts payable function and treasury with automation, control and processes. This role offers both hands-on accounting responsibilities and leadership growth, starting with managing one direct report and expanding the team over the next year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a degreed accountant who brings strong accounting fundamentals, systems aptitude, and vendor management expertise, and who is excited to help build scalable financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day accounts payable function, including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor maintenance
- Serve as the primary owner of AP systems, driving process improvements, automation, and scalability
- Lead and develop the AP team (one direct report initially, with planned growth)
- Oversee vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely and accurate payments
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
- Partner with general ledger accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assist with manufacturing accounting activities such as inventory, cost accounting support, and variance analysis
- Help strengthen internal controls and documentation in preparation for future public company requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, and Finance leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field required)
- Strong accounting foundation with relevant professional experience
- Some hands-on accounts payable experience, including vendor management
- Experience working with accounting systems; systems-minded and process-oriented
- Prior experience leading or mentoring others strongly preferred
- Manufacturing environment experience a plus, but not required
- Comfortable working in a high-growth, evolving environment
- Detail-oriented with the ability to balance hands-on work and leadership responsibility

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
