Controller / Assistant Controller / Accounting Manager (Law Firm)

$125,000 - $145,000 Base Salary Bonus
A growing and highly respected Dallas law firm is seeking a Controller, Assistant Controller, or strong Accounting Manager to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a legal industry background who is looking to step into a leadership role with a stable firm, outstanding culture, and exceptional benefits.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing law firm accounting operations, including legal billing, accounts payable, month-end close, financial reporting, and expense allocations. This individual will work closely with firm leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support the firm's continued growth.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee legal billing and collections processes
- Manage accounts payable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Allocate expenses and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Partner with attorneys and firm leadership on financial matters
- Support process improvements and operational efficiencies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Prior law firm accounting experience required
- Experience with legal billing and trust accounting preferred
- Strong understanding of month-end close and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and accounting software proficiency
- CPA is a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment
Compensation & Benefits:
