Controller – Civil Construction
Location: Atlanta, GA
Compensation: $150,000–$175,000 base 30%–150% annual bonus
PTO: 3 weeks to start

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of the business. This is a highly visible, hands‑on role partnering closely with ownership and senior leadership, with significant impact on financial performance and operational decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, job cost accounting, WIP, and financial reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage percentage‑of‑completion accounting and project costing for civil construction projects
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data across multiple projects
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Partner with project leadership to analyze profitability, cost trends, and operational performance
- Manage and develop accounting staff as the organization grows
- Support leadership with financial insights to drive strategic decision‑making
Qualifications
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including construction or project‑based accounting
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, and percentage‑of‑completion accounting
- Prior experience in civil construction strongly preferred
- Proven ability to operate in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Stable work history with demonstrated longevity and accountability
