Job Summary
Reliance One is hiring a Lab Technician to join one of our clients in Ann Arbor, MI. In this role, you’ll support the Performance Analysis and Evaluation Group with hands-on testing, fixture fabrication, and materials analysis to advance vehicle development initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the Materials Evaluation Group with test setup, fixture fabrication, and standard evaluations.
- Build fixtures for part-level evaluations and prepare parts and materials for testing scenarios.
- Instrument components using accelerometers and other sensors.
- Perform 3D laser scanning for dimensional analysis and validation.
- Operate tensile test frames for various material property evaluations.
- Assist with engine dynamometer evaluations and related test activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized lab environment by following 5S practices.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in laboratory evaluations.
- At least 1 year of experience setting up and configuring test fixtures.
- Basic fabrication skills, including cutting and welding metal for fixtures.
- Background in evaluating metals, fabrics, or plastics.
- Willingness to learn and follow lab safety procedures.
- Beginner-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
