Rehabilitation Support Services, Inc. (RSS) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Residence Counselor to join our team at our Western Avenue community residence in Albany, NY. This part-time overnight position is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting individuals in a residential setting while promoting independence, recovery and overall well-being.
As a Residence Counselor, you will provide direct support to residents and help ensure a safe, structured and supportive living environment.
Schedule
Part-Time (30 hours/week) – Overnights
Pay: $19.51 per hour
- Thursday: 10:00 p.m. – Friday 8:00 a.m.
- Friday: 10:00 p.m. – Saturday 8:00 a.m.
- Saturday: 10:00 p.m. – Sunday 8:00 a.m.
Responsibilities
The Residence Counselor is responsible for coordinating resident care and providing person-centered support, including:
- Coordinating and supporting resident care.
- Supervising and documenting medication administration.
- Providing restorative services in accordance with Medicaid billing guidelines.
- Completing daily progress notes and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Assisting with service planning and goal development.
- Providing advocacy, counseling and crisis intervention as needed.
- Teaching activities of daily living (ADL) and independent living skills.
- Preparing meals and assisting with household routines.
- Conducting room checks and helping maintain a safe, clean residence.
- Performing light house maintenance and other related duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working in a residential, behavioral health or human services setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively during overnight shifts.
