What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Specialist position at Regis HR Group?

What You'll Do:
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable — processing invoices, expense reports, and payments accurately and on time.
- Reconcile bank and investment accounts monthly; monitor and report client expenditures and expense allocations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee the monthly close process, maintain the general ledger in QuickBooks Online, and manage fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
- Support annual audits and tax filings with organized schedules, confirmation letters, and documentation.
- Proactively identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities and translate them into plain-language insights for client boards and leadership.
- Collaborate with Account Executives on client budget planning, forecasting, and long-term sustainability conversations.
- Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and client confidence in company's financial stewardship.
- Associate's degree in accounting or finance (bachelor's preferred) OR 3 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a nonprofit or multi-client environment.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks Online.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial audiences.
- Comfort presenting financial information to client leadership, boards, and volunteers.
- Experience with or willingness to learn financial forecasting and budgeting, not just historical reporting.
- A proactive mindset where you flag issues and suggest solutions before being asked.
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively across teams.
