SUMMARY:
The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the program’s curriculum and standards. This role focuses on supporting the whole child through intentional lesson planning, ongoing assessment, and a nurturing, culturally responsive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and social-emotional development. Teachers partner with families and collaborate with program staff to ensure each child receives the support they need to thrive.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & CRITICAL SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required; Illinois Professional Educator License with Early Childhood Endorsement preferred.
- Experience teaching in an early childhood or preschool setting.
- Knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate practices, and positive behavior guidance strategies.
- Strong skills in assessment and data-driven instruction to individualize learning experiences.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Basic knowledge of Google Suite or similar software for documentation and communication.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. and actively engage with children indoors and outdoors.
