SUMMARY:
The Early Childhood Preschool Behavioral Health Consultant Supervisor works collaboratively with education staff, administrators, and families. This role provides consultation, professional development, and direct support to ensure the social-emotional and behavioral health needs of young children are met. Consultants partner with teachers, paraprofessionals, and Family Educators to implement trauma-informed practices, identify children in need of additional support, and build strategies that promote whole-child development.
In addition to classroom consultation, the Behavioral Health Consultant supports parents and caregivers in setting family goals, understanding child development, and accessing resources. The Consultant also leads training for staff and families, oversees the implementation of tools such as the e-DECA and ASQ-SE, and ensures that program-wide practices align with state and federal behavioral health guidance.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & CRITICAL SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of child development, behavioral health, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning.
- Experience with behavioral health frameworks such as the Pyramid Model and Conscious Discipline.
- Proficiency with screening and monitoring tools (e-DECA, ASQ-SE) and ability to analyze data for program improvement.
- Knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for working with staff, administrators, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
- Ability to train and coach staff in social-emotional and behavioral health practices.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality, cultural awareness, and professionalism.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. and push/pull up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to maintain strong collaborative working relationships with colleagues and families.

The Regional Office of Education #33 works with nine districts across the four counties: Henderson, Knox, Mercer, and Warren.
