SUMMARY:
The Early Childhood Preschool/Head Start Instructional Coach provides individualized and group coaching to teaching staff using evidence-based coaching models. This position conducts classroom observations to assess teaching practices, curriculum implementation, and teacher-child interactions while partnering with teachers to develop Professional Development Plans. Through reflection, modeling, and constructive feedback, the Instructional Coach supports staff in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all children, including those with special needs.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & CRITICAL SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Experience in early childhood education, teacher coaching, or professional development required.
- Knowledge of evidence-based coaching practices and adult learning principles.
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum implementation, and strategies for inclusion.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to maintain coaching logs, progress notes, and documentation in accordance with program and agency procedures.
- Proficiency in Google Suite or similar platforms for documentation and reporting.
