Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, personal, and social issues.
- Develop and implement guidance programs that address the needs of students and promote their overall well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success and address any concerns.
- Assist students in developing academic plans and setting realistic educational and career goals.
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Facilitate workshops and seminars on topics such as study skills, stress management, and college readiness.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
- Provide crisis support and implement prevention programming in collaboration with school staff and community partners.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field.
- Valid Michigan School Counselor License or NT endorsement required at time of employment.
- Previous experience in a counseling role, preferably in a high school setting.
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and issues facing high school students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using technology and counseling software.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in counseling practices.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic school environment and respond to the needs of diverse student populations.
