Social Worker - High School

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker/Family Services Liaison to join our team at Reed City High School. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is committed to supporting the emotional and social well-being of students and their families. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community resources to promote a positive school environment and enhance student success.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students to address emotional, social, and behavioral issues.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff to identify students in need of support and develop intervention strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to students and families in times of need.
• Facilitate communication between the school and families to promote student engagement and academic success.
• Connect families with community resources, including mental health services, housing assistance, and financial support.
• Develop and implement programs and workshops aimed at enhancing student and family well-being.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and services provided.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and coordinate services.
• Advocate for students’ needs within the school system and the community.
• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in social work and family services.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Valid state licensure as a social worker (LMSW or LCSW preferred).
• Experience working with adolescents and families, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong understanding of social, emotional, and behavioral issues affecting students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals, including students, parents, and school staff.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of community resources and services available to families.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, as needed for family engagement activities.
